About Me

I’m a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Microsoft Research in the Research in Software Engineering (RiSE) Group in Redmond, WA. I am interested in creating new types of wearables and devices, developing novel tools for prototyping, as well as new interaction techniques. Most recently, I led Project Brookdale, a new platform for creating and prototyping wearables.

I completed Canada’s first Entrepreneurial Ph.D in Computer Science at the University of Calgary, where I was heavily involved in entrepreneurship, having both succeeded and failed with multiple startups, and successfully launched products. I also currently run a nonprofit that balances my research and entrepreneurial spirit, by teaching STEAM concepts using wearables and fashion-tech to a diverse group of youth. I aim to empower those with non-technical backgrounds and encourage a broader and diverse participation in the STEAM fields.
